WHAT IS A HIGH-YIELD CHECKING ACCOUNT?

This is an account that functions just like a regular checking account — but with higher dividend rates. In most cases, you must meet certain qualifiers to earn the higher rates. 

WHAT ARE THE QUALIFIERS TO EARN DIVIDENDS WITH BONUS CHECKING?

Earning dividends through Bonus Checking is easy.

1. Sign up to receive your statements electronically.

2. Use your Numerica debit or credit card for a combination of 12 transactions of $5 or more each month.

SHOULD I KEEP MY MONEY IN SAVINGS OR HIGH-YIELD CHECKING?

Normally, a savings account is the perfect place to grow your cash. And it still is. Numerica’s Bonus Saver account is a great example. There is also a benefit to storing money away from the account you use for daily life to make sure it’s left alone to grow.

But the most important thing is that your money is making money. With Bonus Checking, you receive all the benefits of a checking account — plus earn high rates more commonly found on a great savings account.

Earn 2.00% APY on the first $25,000 and 0.05% APY on balances $25,000.01 and above by meeting these Bonus Checking qualifiers during each monthly qualification cycle: (a) make 12 transactions of $5 or more that settle to your account using your Numerica Visa debit or credit card, and (b) receive your statements electronically (eStatements). If either monthly qualifier is not met, no dividends will be paid. The minimum opening deposit required for this account is $25. Limit one Bonus Checking account per person. A monthly fee will be charged for paper statements (one fee per membership number). Up to $500 in dividends is not guaranteed when opening a Bonus Checking account. In order to earn up to $500 in dividends, an account balance of at least $25,000 must be maintained, and monthly qualifiers must be met, for 12 consecutive monthly qualification cycles.
